2012 Irish Social Media Awards

Last Monday the 13th of Feb saw various cities around the world launch and celebrate social media week. While there wasn't any official event here in Dublin there was a bit of a bash thrown to launch the 2012 Irish Social Media Awards. A 2011 winners case study paper was also launched on the night and has since been uploaded to slideshare.

The event itself was in the form of a digital table quiz where the use of smartphones was encouraged and even necessary for a lot of the rounds.

I was delighted to have had a chance to pitch in when pulling the case study paper and the launch night together. The awards themselves are a @damienmulley driven production and are taking place on May 17th in Dublin's Mansion House.

2011 Social Media Awards

So the word is out and I have to say we're delighted to have been in a position to come on board as headline sponsors of the first ever Irish Social Media Awards. Lots of Irish companies, people and agencies doing great things so if you're one of them and want to showcase and/or get recognition for your social media jiggery-pokery then there's still time to get your nominations in before 3pm tomorrow Monday 2nd of May.

Rumours that myself Damien, Rick and Adrian are to form a "boy" band have been greatly exaggerated. Story below:

The Last To Know

Had the pleasure of speaking at recent breakfast briefing run by the marketing society titled Lessons in Social Media - an Irish Perspective. Other speakers on day were Damien im on a train Mulley, Tom Farrell of Paddy Power and Darren Grant from The Organic Supermarket.
The event was oversubscribed which was impressive for a 7.30 start and it seems to have gone down well with those who were in attendance. I was asked subsequently to make the presentation i gave here it is!
Presentation covered 3 areas where we used social media to support an ongoing acquisition campaign, a product launch and a sponsorship property. @me if you want any more deets on whats covered.
